Security & Fraud on Social Networks

A remote course I designed and taught for the University of Coimbra on security, privacy and digital fraud on social networks.

The problem

Most people who fall for online fraud aren't technical. The material had to be practical and approachable without watering down how the attacks actually work.

The approach

The course covered threat modelling, everyday privacy practice and fraud prevention, framed around situations participants meet on social networks.
